Resolution Regarding Party Unity

Resolution 2005-04

Whereas;
there now exists a splintered faction throughout the Democratic Party in Dallas, we believe that there also exists a movement waiting to happen, as all groups in Dallas County are doing their best and working towards the same goal to better the party in Dallas and beyond, yet because of the recent events within this party s leadership, there exists a divide that must be transcended and united,

And whereas;
the DCYD moves to take the first step to bring about the beginning of one of the most powerful Democratic movements in recent history, whether it comes together in the shape of a forum or even group representatives meeting with a facilitator, we are calling for a new approach to reach a common ground, to begin anew a conversation that has the potential to allow the participation of all groups in activism, the foundation for those who intend to bring about a greater good,

And whereas;
the members of the DCYD propose to bring members of the Dallas Democratic Party across group lines to share ideas, projects, and/or participation in events, as we believe that we are all working toward the same goals, and though we may have different agendas, we all desire the same outcome,

Therefore, be it resolved;
that the DCYD would like to ally with Democracy for Texas, as we share the same vision, and work with the Club Council, honoring their insight and ideas in creating a committee to this end,

Be it further resolved;
that the DCYD move to get representatives from each group together and solidify our ranks by consciously sharing the same goals and by meeting together.
