Please help the Dallas County Young Democrats make a difference in the future of Dallas Youth!

For our June community service project, the Dallas County Young Democrats are raising $1,300 to support the Tomorrow’s Leaders and Leadership Awards presented at the Teen Savvy 2009 conference on July 23, 2009.

Planned Parenthood of North Texas is sponsoring its annual one-day event, Teen Savvy 2009, for approximately 275 youth between the ages of 11 and 17 participating in summer programs in Dallas. Through area educators, motivational speakers and young entertainers, Teen Savvy 2009 provides an opportunity for young people to participate in an enjoyable program that explores topics and ideas that will assist them in making positive decisions and provides positive community youth and adult role models.

Annual Leadership Awards and Tomorrow’s Leaders Awards are presented to young people who have overcome significant personal obstacles to achieve success in their communities. Two high school age Leadership Award recipients receive a plaque and a $500 cash award to be used for any post-high school education or training program. Two middle school age Tomorrow’s Leaders Award recipients receive a plaque and a $50 gift certificate.
