Serving Those Who Serve Us 9/11 Cook-out!
Cocktails for a Cause: Teen Savvy
Through your generous donations and overwhelming support, the Dallas County Young Democrats were able to raise $1,535 for Teen Savvy, which exceeded our goal by $235 and is far and above what we were able to raise last year. On Friday, July 30th, our Director of Finance, Marcy Floyd, presented our donation to Planned Parenthood of North Texas at the 2010 Teen Savvy Conference, and they were just blown away. They said that there is no other individual or organization that does what we do for Planned Parenthood and makes a contribution to recognize and support the efforts of young people. Way to go DCYD! Thank you!
The Teen Savvy Conference is a one-day event sponsored by Planned Parenthood North Texas for approximately 275 youth between the ages of 11 and 17 participating in summer programs in Dallas.
Annual Leadership Awards and Tomorrow’s Leaders Awards are presented to young people who have overcome significant personal obstacles to achieve success in their communities.
